I could not have a found a more perfect place to display this vibrant sunflower quilt than on a bright blue adirondack chair in front of our amazing smoke tree. This fabric is scheduled to arrive in your local shops next month and I have designed another pattern using this fabric. It features a beautiful sunflower panel painted by Ira Kennedy which I will show you soon.

It’s a sad day because today is the last day of my consecutive Virtual Trunk Show. Sunflower Festival is my last completed quilt. Thank you so much for joining me in this journey. I hope you have enjoyed the quilts and were inspired to start your next project.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My next posts will switch to upcoming projects, displaying quilts in your home, tours of my studio and an exciting GIVEAWAY of two Moda Kits with my patterns and Deb Strain’s fabrics. You are going to have to stay tuned to find out which ones they are!
This has always been one of my favorite Autumn quilts. I love how vibrant the colors are. Thank you Deb for photographing this quilt! The last photo is a picture of some leaves from our smoke tree. The colors are so amazing! How can you not love fall!
]]>Another wall quilt featuring Deb’s All American fabric line which is due to be released in early Spring. I switched up the golden lab with the black lab this time. The cute Americana fabric features trucks and flags and a tossed print with golden labs and one with black labs so I had to get them in the design somewhere!
]]>Today’s post features Land that I Love and Sweet Land of Liberty which are both made from one All American panel. This fabric and my Anthem pattern will be in stores in early Spring 2022, probably around March. I don’t usually include appliqué on my pattern with panels but I couldn’t resist the golden labradors.
]]>This is the last wall quilt made from the Celebrate the Seasons fabrics. I’ve been told that these fabrics will be around for a bit so if you are looking for some quick projects for seasonal decorating or giving, you should check out this group of fabrics. Each panel is attached to 39” of a coordinating print. My wall quilt patterns are designed to use most of the coordinating print and small pieces of one or two other fabrics. (sometimes 3) The year is divided into 3 patterns so each has multiple projects. Ask about them at your favorite quilt shop.
]]>This wall quilt celebrating American Thanksgiving is a great reminder to take stock of what we are thankful for.
]]>Just in time for Halloween, this is cute little wall hanging to have by the door for the trick or treaters!
]]>More projects from Celebrate the Seasons! Welcome Fall which is truly my favorite season. Our fall leaves are so beautiful this year it almost feels like we are on the east coast instead of the west coast. Our usual fall is punctuated with a few wind storms that whisks all our leaves away. This year has been pretty calm so far.
]]>Two more quilts from my book “Room by Room Quilts”. Both quilts are “Holly’s Quilt” from the book. The first is the double size version in spring colors and the second is the lap size version in country colors showing how different a project can look with different fabrics.
]]>In 2012, I wrote Room by Room Quilts which was published by Leisure Arts. This quilt was for the guest room and was shown as the alternate color for the main project which was in blues and browns. I lost all my photos that Leisure Arts took when my computer was stolen in 2017 and the blue quilt was gifted to my children’s music teachers. I have taken a picture of the cover of the book because I really liked the blue and brown version the best.
]]>In 2016, my quilt design was included in Martingale’s I Love Nine Patches book which includes 16 quilts from different designers. In an attempt to come up with something different, I added window panes to my nine-patches and added a little bit of appliqué to the borders.
]]>Growing up, August was always about my birthday and school started in September. I guess the designers at Hoffman didn’t think that was a big enough event for the fabric line! Lots of places now go back to school in August and even if they don’t, it’s a great reminder to the kids to enjoy their last days of freedom and for you to count down until they are back in school!
]]>Always wanted to make a patriotic quilt to help celebrate the 4th of July? This project is super quick allowing you to bring your patriotic spirit into your home!
]]>Celebrate Father’s Day with your dad with this lovely wall quilt. Perfect as a gift for your dad or to hang on the wall at home for your family celebration.
]]>More projects from Celebrate the Seasons! May is for Mother’s and this wall quilt would make a lovely gift for yours!
]]>As soon as I saw this beautiful flag panel by @Kathyschmitzstitches I thought of fireworks exploding around it. I took the star borders from the panel and used them in the table runner. The reds and blues are crisp and beautiful. These two projects will be available as a Moda Kit at the end of the year. Ask about it at your local quilt shop!
]]>I whipped up this cute pumpkin table runner with the panel from my fabric line. Kits are available on my websites. It was all done in half a day!
]]>Living in a forest is amazing. It is quiet and peaceful. You get visited by deer, songbirds and owls and some creatures it is better to see from a distance like bears and cougars. It is a great place to be to escape from the craziness of the world. Transport yourself with this cozy quilt. Holly Taylor’s fabulous flannels used in this quilt are in store now.
]]>I love fall! After a long hot summer, a hint of cool in the air is so refreshing ....and then the colors start to change. This quilt, which is made completely from one layer cake (plus binding and backing) represents those first days of fall. The gorgeous flannel by @HollyTaylorDesigns is in store now! My pattern is also fabswitch compatible so you can switch out my fabric choices with yours using my free app at app.fabswitch.com.
]]>Who doesn’t love Spring? The days get warmer and the flowers start to bloom. The border around the adorable bunny in the center is a bunch of butterflies. You can’t help but smile at this one.
]]>Do you have the luck of the Irish? With this quilt on your wall, you will always find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
]]>February is the month for love. The border for this panel is an arrow through a series of hearts so you can appreciate all the people you love in your life.
]]>This is the January project in the Celebrate the Seasons series. It is hard to see in this photo, but there are pieced snowflakes around the center panel. This is definitely the most challenging of the projects by far but well worth the effort!
]]>This quilt is made with a panel that is attached to a meter (39”) of a coordinating print. There are 13 panels in this fabric line. One for Home Sweet Home and one for each of the months of the year. I have designed a wall quilt for each panel and have put the instructions together in 3 patterns. The first pattern includes Home Sweet Home and the January to April panels. The second pattern is May to August and the third pattern is September to December. This fabric and my patterns are in stores now so check out your local shop
]]>Another quilt featuring Effie’s Woods. This one is made from a layer cake and is all pieced. I am saving this one for my first grandchild.
]]>I absolutely love how this quilt turned out and it is all piecing. Effie’s Woods is such an adorable fabric group and it will be in stores soon. This pattern is also available in a Moda Kit so make sure you check it out at your local quilt shop
]]>If you have been following my posts, you know that I have a thing for door quilts. So, when my fabric line came out, I had to make a door quilt for it! Available as a pattern or a kit!
]]>The main print on this quilt was so pretty that I did not want to cut it up. I set it on point to create a more vintage feel. The coordinating table runner is also on point and I added appliqué birds to make it look like an instant heirloom. This is the last post in the alphabetical list of my Virtual Trunk Show and I am now onto the missed and the new projects! I don't think I'll make it to 365 for a full year....
]]>
The pieced block in this quilt give the impression of an overgrown trellis. I think I need to use that block again....
]]>I love vintage postcards and the combination of the medallion at the top of the wall quilt and the vintage prints immediately inspired me to make this post card quilt. Not a commercial success but I’m still glad I made it.
